Norton Internet Security 2009 Firewall Configuration
How do I configure Norton Internet Security 2009 for use with Pure Networks software?
Norton Internet Security 2009 Firewall Configuration
1. Open Norton Internet Security 2009
2. Click on View Home Network
3. Click on the first device at the top of the map
4. To the right of the Network Trust level click on Edit
5. Select the trust level Full Trust then click OK
6. Repeat step 5 for all devices on the network.
7. Click Close
8. In the middle section click on Settings.
9. In the Smart Firewall section, find Program Control. Click Configure to the right of Program Control.
10. In Program control there should be three programs listed for Network Magic:
1. Pure Networks Platform Service: nmsrvc.exe
2. Network Magic Application: nmapp.exe
3. Network Magic CTXTH: nmctxth.exeIf you do not find these files, you will need to click "Add" button on this screen. Find the file name at C:\Program files\Common files\Pure Networks Shared\Platform\ and click open.
11. Change the access for these files to Allow by dropping down the arrow next to this setting.
12. Click OK
13. In the Smart Firewall section, find Advanced Settings. Click Configure to the right of Advanced Settings.
14. Find the option for Stealth Blocked Ports and change to Off.
15. Click OK twice. Then close out of Norton.
