Troubleshooting Network Reports

Complete Network Reports Setup

After setting up Network Reports, you will receive a welcome email asking you to verify the email address that the reports will be sent to. You must verify the email address to begin receiving Network Reports.

Note: This email is sometimes sent to your Junk or Spam email folder. Please check these folders if you do not see the email in your regular Inbox.

Not Receiving a Network Report

If you set up Network Reports for a specific computer and you're not receiving a report for that computer, check the following:
  • That Network Magic is installed and running on that computer. Network Magic must be running while the computer is on to generate data for the report. When Network Magic is running, the small green Network Magic house ( ) appears in the system tray.
  • That Network Reports is set up for that computer. On your computer, go to the Network Tasks page, click Set Up Network Reports or View Network Reports and make sure the computer for which you want a report is selected and the correct email address is specified.
  • Make sure the Network Report is not in your email's Spam or Junk mailbox.
  • Make sure your Internet connection is up. If it is not, the Network Report will not be sent to your computer.
  • Did your Network Magic Trial expire? If your Trial version has expired and you wish to continue getting Network Reports, you need to purchase Network Magic Pro.

Viewing old Network Reports

When a Network Report is emailed to you, it is available for as long as you keep it. However, the Network Traffic graphic is stored on a Network Magic Web server and will not be available indefinitely. When the image is no longer available, the graph will not display.

When viewing an old report, if you click the See Report on Web link, the most recent Network Report displays for that computer, which is data from the previous day. Old Network Report data is not viewable on the Web.

rundll32 listed in the Application Usage section

You may see rundll32 listed in the Application Usage list. This happens when a .dll file is tracked as a software application. This is not an issue, and can be ignored.

Stopping a Network Report

If you no longer want to receive a Network Report for a computer, you need to stop the Network Reports feature for that computer, and unsubscribe from the Network Report email. For details about doing this, refer to the Network Magic in-product Help topic Stop Receiving a Network Report.
