Setting up your router is a confusing and complicated process. Well here is a helpful step-by-step guide to getting your router working at home!*


Unplug the power to your cable or DSL modem, and make sure your router is unplugged as well. To do this, simply remove the power plug from the modem, and remove the power plug from the router.
Pull the existing Ethernet cable out from your cable or DSL modem and plug it into one of the "ports" on the back of your router that is not labeled as "WAN" or "Internet" on your router. Leave the other end plugged into the back of your computer.
Take a second Ethernet cable (should have come with the router you are installing) plug one end into your cable or DSL modem. Connect the other into the port labeled Internet or WAN.
Reconnect the power supply to your cable or DSL modem. You should wait 30 seconds for the modem to startup before continuing.
Reconnect the power supply to your router.
